The island\u2019s climate is warm and sunny year\u2011round, making it a haven for travellers seeking uncrowded beaches, clear waters, and eco\u2011friendly adventures.<\/p>\n

1. No Name Bea<\/span><\/strong>ch (<\/span><\/strong>Klein Bonaire)<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

A few hundred metres west of the mainland lies Klein Bonaire, a flat, uninhabited islet protected within the marine park. The only way to reach it is by boat. Epic Water Taxi and other operators run daily services from Bonaire Nautico\u00a0 Marina and Buddy\u00a0 Dive Resort. From the city\u2011centre pier, the ride takes about 30 minutes, while the Buddy Dive crossing is a shorter 15\u2011minute trip. Boats drop passengers directly onto No Name Beach, a pristine stretch of powdery white sand with no facilities. Because Klein Bonaire lacks fresh water and shops, pack a reusable water bottle, snacks, and reef\u2011safe sunscreen for your excursion.<\/p>\n

No Name Beach looks like a Bounty bar advertisement: snow\u2011white sand, azure waves, and a fringe of low\u2011lying green bushes. You can stroll barefoot along the beach or snorkel straight from the shore into a coral garden teeming with colourful reef fish and the occasional sea turtle. Many travellers rank No Name as Bonaire\u2019s second\u2011best snorkelling site after 1,000 Steps. When you need shade, there are a couple of thatched pavilions and benches, but otherwise, the island is untouched. Remember to catch the last boat back\u2014local guides note that return ferries generally depart around 4:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

2.Sorobon Beach (Lac Bay)<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Located on Bonaire\u2019s southeast coast within Lac Bay, Sorobon Beach is one of the few true sandy beaches on the island. With pure white sand, swaying palm trees, and gentle turquoise water, it feels straight out of a Hollywood film. An offshore reef protects the bay and keeps the water calm, so you can wade out far before the depth reaches your waist. The lagoon is less than one metre deep, and the bottom consists of fine sand \u2014ideal for children and beginners learning to windsurf.<\/p>\n

Sorobon is globally renowned for windsurfing. In 2014, the Professional Windsurfers Association held a competition here, highlighting its world\u2011class conditions. Year-round trade winds and shallow waters attract both professionals and novices; local schools rent boards and offer lessons, while a beach bar and sunbeds provide post-sail relaxation. Beyond windsurfing, Lac \u00a0 Bay\u2019s mangrove channels offer excellent guided kayaking, and the area is rich in birdlife.<\/p>\n

3.1,000 Steps Beach<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

On Bonaire\u2019s northwest coast lies 1,000 Steps Beach, a dramatic cove backed by a limestone cliff. The name is a misnomer\u2014there are only about 67 steps down to the shore. A gently winding staircase carved into the rock leads through tropical vegetation to a platform with sweeping views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea. What makes 1,000 Steps truly special is its underwater world. Locals consider it Bonaire\u2019s best snorkelling spot.<\/p>\n

The visibility is superb, the coral reef is healthy and colourful, and snorkellers often encounter parrotfish and sea turtles. The site is also popular with divers; shore entry can be challenging with full gear, but the calm currents make for safe underwater exploration.<\/p>\n
